Cacti, tomatoes and foraging

A gorgeous afternoon yesterday, I pulled up a chair in my greenhouse, and I repotted 2 cacti plants (the one of the right which I grew from seed as a student!) and a sad looking aloe vera plant:

I also planted 2 trays of tomato seeds, some Red Cherry, San Marzano and Moneymaker.

And a walk around Miskin, lots of wild primroses (apparently the flowers and leaves are edible, but it's illegal to pick them):

And the wild garlic season is soon to be upon us, lots of leaves showing already:

  1. Can you tell me whereabouts in Miskin the wild garlic is growing. It would be most appreciated.

    1. Sure, it's on the new estate, there are a few areas that have been left wild, mini forests which are great for hunting for wild flowers. The place I took this photo is off Ffordd Cefn Yr-Hendy, there's a bus stop and just behind it a little stile, climb over that and there's a little walk which in a few days will be covered in wild garlic! I'm told also Castell Coch is a great wild garlic location http://www.jamieoliver.com/bloggers/viewtopic.php?id=43861

I was excited to find vast somes of it in the west of Scotland, so my nose has been on the ground for some in South-West Wales, so you sharing the location with me is most appreciated. Thank you.
